Ten years ago, in a basement in the hills of Ashland, seven women met to form a comedy improv troupe.  100 names for the company were tossed at the dry erase board, including Comedy Nurses, Womedy, and the FemBots – but when the ancient Amazons were called upon as foremothers, the name Hamazons burst forth fully formed from their collective witty souls.  From the very first show, at the Ashland Town Hall, when they didn’t number the tickets and played to an oversold standing room only crowd, The Hamazons have been local and regional favorites, playing theaters, clubs, conference halls, office parties and martini bars.  Also known as “The Warrior Princesses of Comedy,” The Hamazons have been performing consistently in the Rogue Valley since 1999.

Original founding members Carolyn Myers and Cil Stengel have been joined by theatrical playmates, Eve Smyth in 2003 and Kyndra Laughery in 2005 to form the current company.
